It's Finished

She's Finished,OMG I can't believe it!I am so happy I sat up until 2 last night finishing her off.Hmm photographing was the hard part..I wanted you to see the background with the netting and texture paste it turned out great..I painted it deep pink and black all mottled and the dress is a really deep green shadowing to black..But it was very difficult showing the colours in a photograph AnywayI wanted to thank you all for encouraging me to give it a go again,I am very pleased with myself today!

WORK IN PROGRESS

Ok I have started Hmm might take me awhile .She is only on a 9'x12' canvas but this is a huge deal for me.She is the first painting I have done since first year in highschool, when I did ART.I've done my little atc but that has mostly been painting over an image where this is my own handrawn image.I"m sure it won't look like Deborah Harry by the time  I have finished but at least I am finding my wings.

Debbie Harry Sketch

Not much to share..I had been working on a xmas canvas for The Craft Stand during the week but in my rush to get it to the shop I forgot to photograph it.Sorry girls. The Perth girls can see it instore .Last week in the Sunday times STM was a gorgeous pic of DEBBIE HARRY.I couldn't resist she was always my childhood Idol so I had to have a go at sketching her.I've drawn it on canvas, might even give painting a try. Can't promise i'll share though I'm really not very good at painting, drawing is much more my thing.

Playing with Picnik

I've been having a play today using picnik with a couple of photos I took at Whiteman Park. a few weeks ago. It's a huge park about 15 minutes drive from my place. There is a pioneer village, tractor and car museum, vintage railway, playground, wildlife park..Needless to say it's really wonderful there, and one of my favourite places to take Denver. Anyway i have to make some used postage stamp atc's so I thought I would use the cobb&co image at the bottom.I ltook alot of colour from  the pics using the sepia tool added a frosted edge and then used a few of the textures.I was really happy how they turned out.Might even make a few cards with them.

A layout and new DT position

Wow it doesn't rain it pours .That expression is so true often in my life..I haven't scrapped for so long and just when I accepted the Dt position at ScrapwithV. within a day I was also asked to join my local  scrapbook stores's  Dt The Craft Stand.Well after a few days deliberation I decided to just jump in.Well I guess I needed that push as here is my first layout in months. It's to go up on the wall at the craft stand in Malaga WA so I was able to share it with you.I've used BasicGrey-Kioshi pp's.Just so pretty,I couldn't resist handcutting all of those flowers.

RETRO ATC

I recently joined a swap over at scrapnartjourney. The theme this month was RETRO.I found this one a little difficult as I really wasn't sure what to do..I had chosen a combi van image off the net but Angie had done a very similar design to what i had thought about with a VW image so I decided to go HIP.I started by painting my card with lots of really bright colours, then I coated with white paint and drag the end og my brush through to do the flowers. After it had all dried I outlined with black permanent ink and added the green and yellow and pink outline with Tombow water pens..I was aiming for out there, and I think I sort of accomplished that. The theme next month is Abstract. If you'd like to join in just pop on over to Angies blog for the sign up.

Vintage atc's

MY latest atc,Spread your wings and fly are for a Vintage swap at amandas scrap, swaps. It's also Vintage week at the three muses so I thought Iwould enter it in there alsoI started by layering and glueing different vintage papers together added paint here and there and newspaper also and then peeled away in different spots.I love the effect this gave..I then added a gloss medium to the cards once i had cut them to size. After that I heat embossed the lovely flourish you can see on the top using tim Holtz distress powders but I didn't like the look it was a little bold so I scraped that away lightly also and then restamped the image with black stazon. Finally i added the butterfly and quote .lightly painted with crafty notions spray in antique gold.Love the aged effect.

Little Aussie Gal

This is little Aussie Gal.She is my softie for the softie swap over at the Clip Cafe blog. She is my own original design.I have made her body out of felt and her hair from sewn material  which i individually handsewed each strand into place.  I left the edges raw.I had so much fun making her ,she is not quite finished as I am thinking I might still do something for her to hold. It's been years since I've made anything like this but I think I might be doing a few more as I had so much fun creating her.She is off to Scotland next week to her new home at Jenny's

Free digi stamp-Retro Body

Once again I have another digi stamp for you,if you click on the pic it will open to a larger image, right click and save to your computer. If you print to a wallet size you should have the right atc sizing.I think Live out loud and my previous atc are a little retro,a little flower power.I'm a little captivated with this style at the moment so you might even be seeing a few more. The head i am using is a bald dolls head with closed eyes so it allows me to add my own design but you can draw a head or have a look around the net and have a bit of fun .I painted the background and then used the stampin up rollergraph flourish over the top
